Sourced directly from our producer partners in Ethiopia and Guatemala, this year's Christmas Roast has a dense, marmalade-like texture, chocolate sweetness and fruity bara brith in the finish.

High quality coffee has wide ranging, naturally occurring taste notes. The dominant flavour profile in this coffee is Fruit. Many coffees have fruity notes, not surprising considering that coffee beans are seeds of a fruit. Naturally processed coffees are often fruity as the method enables more of the sugars in the fruit are absorbed in the beans.
Roast
This coffee is a light roast. Roast level influences the flavour and body of coffee. Darker roasts are fuller bodied, lighter roasts brighter. The beans are light brown in colour (unsurprisingly), it will retain more of the natural flavour of the coffee. This can result in a higher acidity and may often show more fruit and floral notes. This roast style means the quality of the coffee shines through the best.

This coffee is best brewed as a cafetiere (French press). All our coffees can be brewed using any method, but this is our recommendation for a method which suits the coffee particularly well.
espresso
This coffee is best brewed as an espresso (coffee shop type machine or a bean to cup). All our coffees can be brewed using any method, but this is our recommendation for a method which suits the coffee particularly well.
filter

More about this microlot

Our Christmas Roast for 2024 is a wonderfully warming holiday treat. Enjoy it as a rich, juicy filter coffee or as a dense, syrupy espresso that shines through milk. This blend is sourced from Elias Banate's farm in Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia and Luis Pedro Zelaya's mill, Bella Vista, in Antigua, Guatemala.

Brewed as a filter, this blend is full of rich chocolate, dark fruit and bara brith spices. As an espresso expect a marmalade-like texture and syrupy body, turning to chocolate truffle and baking spice in milk. Best enjoyed around the tree on Christmas morning, after a long dinner with friends and family, or in fact, just about any moment we can think of.

All of our coffees are roasted by hand in East London ensuring quality in every cup you drink. Merry Christmas.
