WHAT TO EXPECT
The focus of our courses are on espresso based drinks and understanding coffee from bean to cup. Each course comprises a half day of practical training at the Union roastery on the machine type of your choice.
Our sessions focus on the practical side and less on theory which means shorter training sessions of 3 hours. They are structured as 'microlearning'; bitesize information that's easy to digest. We provide digital manuals which allows course trainees to take away more content to absorb and refer back to in their own time.

The hard work and effort in creating our fine coffees can be undone by un-calibrated or dirty machinery. Brewing high quality coffee takes knowledge and precision and requires a desire to deliver the best cup possible.
Our multiple training rooms, here at the Union Roastery, are created with the cafè environment in mind, each kitted out with a large range of equipment in order to best match what you are using.
The training programme we have designed helps us to educate you to a high and professional level. Each training module is linked with the rest of the programme and is tailored to fit to various roles and responsibilities within coffee.
Our energising half day courses are open to all existing Union Trade customers. We use various teaching tools & methods to ensure we fit to all types of learning and knowledge levels.
During the process of training we work closely with you to address specific service and development needs you may have, through our advanced sessions, helping you to deliver the best coffee imaginable, every time.
