Sweet and vibrant

A sweet and vibrant cup with notes of raspberry jam, papaya and a creamy mouthfeel, grown by the dedicated farming community of Banko Dhadhato in Yirgacheffe.
Roast
This coffee is a light roast. Roast level influences the flavour and body of coffee. Darker roasts are fuller bodied, lighter roasts brighter. The beans are light brown in colour (unsurprisingly), it will retain more of the natural flavour of the coffee. This can result in a higher acidity and may often show more fruit and floral notes. This roast style means the quality of the coffee shines through the best.
Quality Score
87.0
Coffee scoring over 80 on Speciality Coffee Association scale is considered High Quality, Speciality Coffee.
Best Brewed As
espresso
This coffee is best brewed as an espresso (coffee shop type machine or a bean to cup). All our coffees can be brewed using any method, but this is our recommendation for a method which suits the coffee particularly well.
filter
This coffee is best brewed as a filter (cafetiere, pour over, aeropress, drip, etc.). All our coffees can be brewed using any method, but this is our recommendation for a method which suits the coffee particularly well.
Processing Method
This coffee was processed using the natural method. Post-harvest processing influences the taste profile. Washed coffees are brighter, naturally processed are sweeter and honey processed are somewhere in between.

More about this microlot

In the heart of Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, the Banko Dhadhato Cooperative brings together more than 750 farmers dedicated to producing exceptional coffee. Founded in 2013 with just 250 members, it has grown into a strong and supportive community focused on quality, sustainability and better livelihoods.

Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, carefully sorted and dried naturally on raised beds for up to 21 days. This slow, sun-led process develops the bright, expressive flavours Yirgacheffe is known for and brings out the fruit-forward character in this lot. Beyond coffee, the association supports local families by providing school supplies and helping children access education.

Expect a sweet and vibrant cup with notes of raspberry jam, papaya and a soft, creamy mouthfeel. Smooth, tropical and full of character, it is a beautiful expression of the region and the care of the farmers who grow it.

We are the home of fresh coffee. When you order online, your coffee is roasted fresh to order, especially for you. Plus, it’s specialty grade and traded ethically through Union Direct Trade.
