Delicate orange and juicy red berries with a sweet caramel finish

A bright, juicy coffee with orange and red berry notes, finished with sweet caramel. Grown in Ethiopia’s Yayu Forest, where coffee quality and forest preservation go hand in hand.
Roast
This coffee is a medium roast. Roast level influences the flavour and body of coffee. Darker roasts are fuller bodied, lighter roasts brighter. A medium roasted coffee bean is medium brown in colour. It retains many of the flavour profiles of the natural bean but also gains some sweetness and body from a longer roast.

More about this microlot

From the heart of Ethiopia’s Yayu Coffee Forest Biosphere comes this vibrant new release. Grown in one of the world’s last remaining mountain forest fragments of arabica coffee, this cup balances delicate orange notes with a juicy red berry character and a long, sweet caramel finish.

We’ve worked with five cooperatives in Yayu since 2013, including Wutete, the largest with over 400 members. Together we’ve supported improvements in coffee quality while helping preserve this unique and vital forest. The cooperative’s efforts have also empowered its members, including women farmers like Yewbgar Gashaw, who are earning more from their coffee and gaining better access to resources.

In 2022, Wutete achieved Organic certification, further protecting the forest while allowing more people to enjoy their coffee. This is a cup that not only tastes remarkable but also carries the story of resilience, sustainability and community.
