Centuries ago, a warrior tribe ruled the land this coffee grows on. This coffee is named after them – Timana. A rich and balanced espresso with flavour notes of plum, molasses, turkish delights and barley. If you enjoy your coffee with milk, look out for flavours turning to dried fig, toast and a lingering fudge taste. This is a great coffee for filter too with an interesting combination of flavour notes ranging from plum, white grape and a hint of lemon. Very sweet and smooth mouthfeel that will leave you with an enjoyable toffee-like taste on the back of the tongue. Delicious!

Timaná is a municipality located in the South of Huila, Colombia, about a 180 km away from Neiva. Surrounded by the Central and Cordillera Central and Occidental ranges of the Colombian Andes, the area boasts good soils and high altitude - the perfect environment for growing speciality coffee.
In 2001, ASPROTIMANA was formed, standing for The Association of Timaná, in Spanish. Back when they were founded, they were a association of 32 farmers with a common goal to create socio-economic stability for coffee farming families in the region. Today, the association has grown to incorporate around 220 members, with Robinson Figueroa as the association’s general manager.
The farmers in the ASPROTIMANA association are trained to high-standards in agricultural practices – not only focussing productivity and quality, but also environmental sustainability. These traits make ASPROTIMANA an excellent partner in growing high-quality Colombia coffee, and Union has been working with the association since 2003. Asprotimana’s first cupping lab was donated by Union in 2003. Since then they have kept growing, focussing on quality and good agricultural practices. Expanding their facilities, improving their cupping lab and strengthening their organizational capacities focussing on youth. Now they have grown to an organization that strengthens the community and brings broader social change.
Asprotimana also supports women coffee farmers via The Women’s Group; this consists of 40 women who are provided with leadership and business training. As part of the training, they learn about roasting coffee for the local market, as well as preparation of drinks, desserts and sweets to build a café business. These women demonstrate to the world that women are more than capable of not only managing a farm, but truly succeeding in doing it. The association also has specific project to support young coffee farmers in the area, to ensure future for speciality coffee and enabling the next generation to make coffee farming a sustainable profession for them.
Speciality coffee has found a home in not only the farms surrounding Timaná, but also in the community of the farmers, with speciality coffee shop being built in the village - creating employment for local young people and displaying the delicious coffee which is grown in the area.

Our last guaranteed date for orders to arrive to you in time is based on when you place your order on our website. We recommend you place your order as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
We will continue to roast and despatch coffee until Thursday 23rd December and will endeavour to get orders placed before then out to you. Orders will be processed on a first come first served basis. The last collection date from the Roastery for Royal Mail is 22nd December and for DPD is 23rd. It is highly unlikely that these deliveries will be made prior to Christmas, but for your best chance make sure to select DPD at checkout.
Please also be aware that our couriers have reported extraordinary volumes and subsequently delays this year. You will receive a despatch confirmation email on the day your order is passed to the courier. All courier services are running between the Christmas and New Year period, excluding public holidays.
Christmas Opening Times
We aim to despatch all orders within 2 working days of receiving them. During peak mail order periods (for instance, Christmas or other promotional activities), this timeframe may be extended slightly, although every effort will be made to despatch your order as soon as possible.
All our coffees are roasted to order so we require at least one working day before we can despatch your order
Standard delivery is charged at £2 per order (mainland UK)
For all orders over £15 (before delivery) or over 2KG in weight, delivery is FREE
Convenient Delivery packaging
In an effort to reduce wasteful packaging and also make delivery more convenient for you. If your order is 2 x 200g bags of coffee or less your delivery will be sent in a box designed to fit through your letterbox. So you no longer need to wait in for your Union Coffee delivery.
N.B not all letterboxes are made equal. Our boxes are designed to meet the Royal Mail letterbox guidelines, sadly this doesn't cover all letterboxes. We've discovered that older houses can often have unusual dimensions and the box may not fit through.
For all Orders under 2kg (equivalent to 9 x 200g bags of coffee or less) your delivery will be sent 48 Hour Tracked Royal Mail
For all Orders over 2kg are sent recorded delivery via DPD (delivery on working days only)
We aim to freshly roast and despatch all orders within 48 working hours of receiving them. During peak order periods (for instance, Christmas or other promotional activities), this timeframe may be extended slightly, although every effort will be made to despatch your order as soon as possible.
All CoffeeClub subscription orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 service. You will receive an email upon despatch, and a tracking number to help track your order. Royal Mail estimate a 2-3 working day delivery window. Please note our CoffeeClub subscription service is only available for delivery within mainland United Kingdom.
Where coffees are unavailable, or out of stock, Union Hand-Roasted Coffee will advise customers appropriately through the online shop or by email or phone where those have been provided with an order.
Unfortunately due to the increasing complexity and challenge of crossing borders around the world at the moment, we now only offer delivery to the United Kingdom.

Re-orders of previous shipments can be done easily through the 'my account' section of the website. If one or more products is out of stock, the re-order link will not be visible. Please check individual products required, or select alternatives.
Our online shop no longer has a minimum transaction value.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
If there has been a delivery issue or your parcel has exceeded its collection period, Royal Mail will return the parcel to us as sender. You can check on the delivery status of your order using the tracking number provided.
If your coffee is being returned, contact us here with your order details and we’ll be happy to arrange for the parcel to be redelivered to you, once it arrives. This policy also applies to our DPD customers.
To avoid missing your parcel, we recommend checking your delivery address is correct before placing the order and once it’s despatched, checking the delivery status via the tracking number.
When we receive a returned parcel, we will always endeavour to contact the customer and offer redelivery. If we do not hear back within 2 weeks of contact, the coffee will be donated.
As all of our coffee is freshly hand roasted to order, we cannot accept returns/exchanges unless specifically requested by our Customer Service team.
Union Hand-Roasted Coffee does not refund or exchange coffees, teas etc. if ordered incorrectly through our website.
