Timaná is a municipality located in the South of Huila, Colombia, surrounded by the Central and Cordillera Central and Occidental ranges of the Colombian Andes. The area boasts good soils and high altitude - the perfect environment for growing speciality coffee. The ASPROTIMANA co-operative was formed by 32 farmers in 2001, and now boasts over 220 members with a common goal to create socio-economic stability for coffee farming families in the region.

Chirinos is a co-operative of smallholder coffee farmers in Amazonas, North Peru. In 1968, 36 smallholder farmers joined together to form this co-operative and today they boast over 807 members, of which 30% are women, from several communities in Cajamarca region. The average coffee producer farms an area less than 5 hectares, so being part of a co-operative enables them to sell their coffee.
