More about this microlot
Full bodied and floral, with complex peach-like acidity, a heavy, creamy body and milk chocolate in the finish. This naturally processed Ethiopian coffee was grown by Elias Banate, in the famous coffee-growing region of Yirgacheffe.
From his 12 hectare farm, Elias provides for his large family of 12 children. In addition to coffee, he also grows false banana, avocado, banana and mango. After harvesting the mature coffee cherries by hand, the coffee is sorted, again by hand, before being laid out on raised drying beds. Under direct sunlight, the coffee cherries dry within 21 days of being picked. Once dried, the coffee is brought to the dry-mill of Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union where the dried fruit is removed and the coffee is milled and sorted in preparation for export.
